Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best BJJ gi for a beginner?
A mid-weight pearl weave gi around 380 GSM, in white, blue, or black. It is durable enough for daily training and IBJJF legal for competition.
How much should my first gi cost?
A quality first gi runs about $100 to $130. You do not need a premium competition gi to start training.
What size gi should I buy?
Gis are sized A0 to A5 by height and weight. Kingz gis are pre-shrunk, so buy your true size and check the size guide.
Is a beginner gi IBJJF legal?
Yes. Every Kingz gi is 100% IBJJF legal, so you can compete in it from day one.
What color gi should a beginner get?
White is the classic and most academy-friendly choice. Blue and black are also IBJJF legal if you want options.
